John C. Houston
John C. Houston joined Triangle Peak Partners, LP in June 2008. Mr. Houston was formerly with Oracle Corporation, where he served as business planning director in the North America Alliances & Channels organization. While at Oracle, he led a team tasked with strategic and operational planning in support of the 4,000 firms that generate over $1 billion annually in software license revenue for Oracle in North America. Previously, he was a senior associate at the New York City Investment Fund and an associate with Investor AB’s venture capital arm, Investor Growth Capital. He began his career as a financial analyst at the investment bank of Hambrecht & Quist, where he worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group in both San Francisco and London.
Over the last 12 years, John has worked on numerous venture and private equity transactions, with a focus on enterprise and infrastructure software. He played a pivotal role in investments such as C3i, Creditex (acquired by ICE in 2008), DataSynapse (acquired by TIBCO Software in 2009), Loan-X (acquired by Markit in 2004), IntraLinks, and nTru (acquired by Security Innovation in 2009). John serves as a board observer for Astro Gaming, Inc. and Fliqz, Inc.
John received his B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. with a Certificate in Public Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. While at Stanford, he sat on the board of directors of Coro Northern California, a non-profit organization that provides experiential training in public policy and government affairs to high school, undergraduate and post-graduate students.
